Reanetta Hunt, M.ED., CFRE

,A nationally recognized strategist and changemaker, Reanetta Hunt brings decades of leadership across journalism, higher education, nonprofit advancement, and public policy. As Founder and CEO of HMMG Consulting, she has guided mission-driven organizations in strategic planning, integrated communications, and fundraising—driving transformative progress in education, equity, and systemic reform.

Her commitment is rooted in a deep belief in equitable democratic values. Reanetta has championed initiatives that drive systemic change and improve life outcomes for vulnerable populations, while advancing public policy, education, and social justice efforts that promote opportunity and inclusion.

As Executive Director of a highly successful, well-established nonprofit, she secured multimillion-dollar funding to transform foster care and juvenile justice systems,

earning the Angels in Adoption Award from the U.S. Congressional Coalition.

At Chicago Public Schools, Reanetta played a pivotal role in crisis communications and community engagement, helping launch the Children’s First Fund and raising millions to support vulnerable students. She later served as Vice President of Advancement at Chicago State University, where she led fundraising and external affairs for one of Illinois’ most impactful urban-serving institutions, advancing educational equity and access.

Her leadership also extends into federal service. As Senior Advisor for Archivals, Legacy, and Communications for the U.S. House of Representatives, Reanetta leads a phased legacy preservation and archival transfer effort across Washington, DC, and Chicago. In this role, she oversees staff-led identification, inventory, and preparation of materials for repository transfer; coordinates archival standards, foundational finding aids, and deeds of gift; advises on narrative preservation and intellectual legacy; supports the development of the Congressman’s historical and literary record; and serves as the primary liaison with academic and archival repositories.

Reanetta’s career is also deeply rooted in media and communications, where she is known for crafting compelling narratives that drive change. A Chicago Emmy-nominated journalist and former General Manager of a television station, she has anchored and produced both television and radio news, earning national distinction as an Outstanding Broadcast Journalist.

Her storytelling background strengthens her expertise in public engagement, institutional credibility, and policy advocacy.

She has served as a key strategist for state and national political campaigns, shaping communications, policy, and public affairs, and has worked as a Communications and Policy Advisor to elected leaders and an Executive Writer to state and national officials—roles that reflect her standing as a trusted voice in public service and civic innovation.

Reanetta holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas, where she is completing her doctorate in higher education administration. She has earned advanced certifications from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in fundraising, stewardship, and nonprofit finance and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
